Vincent's Health Journey
A few years ago, my life changed in an instant.
In February 2022, I suffered a stroke caused by high blood pressure. I had to fight to regain my ability to walk, speak, and live independently. Then, in 2023, I went into kidney failure. Now I spend three days a week on dialysis.
Dialysis keeps me alive, but it is not giving me my life back.
This journey has been hard on me, and hard on the family who loves me. Kidney disease does not just affect one person. It affects a marriage, children, daily life, and every plan for the future. My family has stood by me through all of it with love, strength, and faith.
But love cannot replace a kidney.
The clearest way I can say it is this: when someone is drowning, you do not stand back and watch. You reach in and pull them out. When someone is trapped in a burning car, you do not wait for a better moment. You act.
That is what a living kidney donor does.
A donor does not just help. A donor rescues. A donor gives someone the chance to keep loving, keep living, and keep showing up for the people who need them most.
I am asking for that chance.
A living donor could help save my life.
